Despite launching almost four years ago, Nintendo has released a rather sizable update to the 3DS hit Animal Crossing: New Leaf, bringing a slew of new content– and Amiibo functionality– to the title that is sure to draw lapsed mayors back to their villages.
Perhaps the biggest addition to the title is the RV campground, a new area of town where players can interact with special villagers and even purchase exclusive items. The campground is tended by Harvey, and it is here that any villager summoned via an Amiibo card or figure will set up camp– including certain non-Animal Crossing Amiibo, such as the Inklings and Wolf Link, which will unlock brand new villagers inspired by the corresponding figures. New Leaf introduces the most new features since Animal Forest e+. On November 2 nd, 2016, an updated version of the game, Welcome amiibo, was released. This update can be applied to the original New Leaf through the Nintendo eShop.
The campground is also where you can spend the game’s new MEOW (Mutual Exchange Of Wealth) coupons, a new form of currency that allows you to purchase brand new items that are not otherwise available in the title. Players can earn MEOW coupons by completing new town initiatives (specific tasks that range from plucking a certain number of weeds to gathering specific sea shells). Mac os x chronology. Also available are two brand new minigames: Desert Island Escape and Animal Crossing Puzzle League, both of which can be purchased via MEOW coupons after obtaining a Wii U or New 3DS item, respectively, from the campground.
The new features extended beyond the campground, as well. Thanks to the update, players can now arrange the furniture in their homes using only the 3DS touch screen, as they could in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. You can also purchase a new secret storeroom for your home to store items and cut down on clutter. And players who happen to have Happy Home Designer data saved onto their consoles can transfer it over to New Leaf, which will unlock special giant furniture that can be purchased for your home.
You can see these features and more for yourself in the full Animal Crossing Direct broadcast:
